Are you a high-performing supervisor ready to take your career to the next level? The Westgate Manager-in-Training (MIT) program is your opportunity to fast-track your learning & development to become one of the next great leaders at Westgate!
Over 4-6 dynamic months, you’ll engage in immersive on-the-job training and business classes covering core leadership skills and practical business insights.
You can expect to receive the following benefits & support as an MIT participant:
Candidates for the MIT program must be supervisor-level Team Members or Certified Field Trainers (CFT) in Resort Operations who have:
Candidates must also be willing to relocate for training and at the end of the program, as successful graduates receive priority consideration for leadership positions company-wide.
Westgate is committed to investing in your professional growth and development. In return, participants must demonstrate flexibility and a willingness to relocate to assume leadership roles wherever opportunities arise within the company.
Candidates are first nominated by their managers or directors through a nomination form.
After TMS verifies eligibility, each candidate is invited to complete a proctored essay to share with the selection committee why they believe they are a strong fit for the program. The essay will also be evaluated to ensure candidates meet the minimum English language proficiency requirements.
Those that pass the eligibility check and essay requirements will be invited to interview with a Talent Acquisition (TA) Leader, General Manager, and National Director. Interviews are in-person for candidates in Central Florida, and virtual for candidates outside of commuting distance.
The MIT program begins with a kick-off event to welcome you, provide key guidelines, and begin your on the job training. You will meet your fellow program participants and receive your technology for the program (a Westgate laptop) and other swag!
Afterwards, each participant is assigned to a specific property for their on-the-job (OJT) training. Training locations may be in another state; Westgate will cover the cost of travel and accommodations.
The OJT portion of MIT lasts approximately 4 to 6 months and involves working through the core positions in each resort department, beginning with entry level positions. During the program, participants will also be invited to attend weekly virtual business classes.
Business classes are hosted virtually each week. Your Learning & Development facilitators will be joined by expert leaders from around Westgate who will share insights into their business areas.
