Westgate is proud to introduce The Engineer’s Edge, a new onboarding and career development program launching May 12th for Engineering Team Members at Westgate.
The goal of The Engineer’s Edge is to standardize essential training and provide clear career growth pathways for our Tech 1-3, Trade, and Project Team Members.
This program involves course completion and career pathing for Techs 1, 2, 3, Trades, and Projects non-supervisor hourly Team Members.
Certified Field Trainers and Managers will be involved in signing off on On-Job-Training (OJT) Checklists.
This program is designed to provide you with critical training in safety and engineering fundamentals that will help you be successful.
You will also unlock access to courses that will help you gain knowledge and skills to grow into your next role, taking the guesswork out of when you might be ready for a promotion.
The building blocks of The Engineer’s Edge are eLearning courses that make up Learning Paths and Career Paths.
A Learning Path is a group of courses.
A Career Path is a group of Learning Paths.
Each Team Member will be required to complete onboarding courses that will then unlock optional career pathing designed for their specific role.
Every current Tech 1,2,3, Trades, and Project non-supervisory Team Member will automatically be enrolled in the Department and Engineering Onboarding Career Paths starting Monday, May 12th.
A core objective of this program is to standardize skills and knowledge across Westgate Resorts, building a clear foundation for all Team Members.
Therefore, you cannot skip the eLearning required as part of the Onboarding Career Paths. Every Tech 1,2,3, Trades, and Project non-supervisor Team Member will be required to complete the courses and checklists during this initial roll-out.
The Department and Engineering Role Onboarding Career Paths are required for Tech 1,2,3, Trades, and Project non-supervisor Team Members. Therefore, you must complete these initial courses on the clock at work.
Career paths that unlock after completing onboarding are optional and can be taken at home.
